Personal Statement
I am a self reliant, resourceful and friendly hard worker. In my previous employment I have worked in many varied and often challenging environments, which have given me extensive experience of problem solving, classroom management, dealing with the public and liaising with clients. I am always punctual and take pride in everything I do. I am comfortable working both on my own but also enjoy being part of a team. I am used to learning new techniques and skills, quickly and to a high level of proficiency.
Employment and training history
December 2009 – Present
ESL teacher at Deborah kindergarten Shenzhen, China.
Responsible for the upper international class each year since I started. On average my class has 25 students between the ages of 4 and 6.
Duties include: Lesson preparation, teacher training, school promotions, graduation ceremony presenter and classroom management.
February 2009 – June 2009
ESL teacher at Lanshan Number 1 Middle school, Hunan, China.
Teaching 23 lessons a week to a variety of age groups from 12 years up to 20 years of age. Average class size was 50.
Duties included: Classroom management, special promotions and activities, lesson planning and testing.
May 2008 – September 2008
Traveling in China.
I took time out to visit a country that has and still does, fascinate me.

FD in photography at Liverpool John Moores University.
I used my time here to further my skills and love of photography.
August 2004 – October 2006
Q and A at Sony computer entertainment Europe.
Tester at Sony studies Liverpool. During this time I worked on a wide variety of top game releases and was promoted to team leader during the pre-launch preparations of the PS3 console.
September 2002- July 2004
Self-employed photographer.
I used this time to self-finance myself for a proposed exhibition and book. I worked on a variety of photo projects from travel to portrait to photo journalism.
October 1999 – July 2002
BA at Staffordshire University (film television and radio).
During my time at University I was involved with a variety of clubs and took part in numerous extracurricular activities it was during this time I began to experiment with photography.
January 1999 - September 1999
Neptune Theatre Liverpool as marketing co-ordinator and box office manager. Duties as marketing co-ordinator included:
Organising interviews between radio stations and performers playing at the Neptune.
Arranging media publicity for forthcoming attractions at the theatre.
Organisation and distribution of posters, flyers and other publicity. Also arranging publicity stunts and co-ordinating press coverage for the publicity events.
Liasing with Liverpool City Council as part of the Internet marketing committee.
As Box office manager my duties included:
Dealing with members of the public on a daily basis in person and by phone.
The selling of tickets by cash, credit card or cheque.
Dealing with complaints.
Processing multiple ticket orders.
Issuing complimentary tickets.
July - December 1998
Producer on music promos for a variety of signed artists. As part of Liverpool based company Media station.
As Producer I worked closely with the Director and the bands on all aspects of the production. Starting with the original concept and storyboard. Auditioning of actors, constant liaison with the musicians, location finding and post-production supervision.
August 1994 - June 1998
Radio City Action Desk: working first as a trainee, then employed as campaign co-ordinator and also manning the help lines when necessary as part of the help desk team. Duties included:
Dealing with all manner of problems on the help desk.
Writing for the Action Desk magazine “Best Possible World”.
Organisation of campaigns. From initial concept through to eventual distribution of public information.
