Skills Profile
Communication and Interpersonal
• Working as an English language teacher, required me to teach classes of up to 70 students. I had to interact with them in a clear and concise manner, and communicate my lessons in a way that allowed them to understand and use the new information to practice and perform language tasks.
• As a bar supervisor I was required to deal with customer complaints, delegate jobs to my staff as well as ensuring that they do it to a professional level.
• Rowing and Coxing for Heriot Watt Rowing Club has helped develop leadership skills and motivational skills and has allowed me to command boats to place in races.
• As an inductions and screening administrator at AMEC, I was required to test and work with individuals in their in house training to reach the necessary standards established by the company.
• Presentations and written reports were assessed as part of my course.
Numeracy, Analytical skills and Problem Solving
• The Applied Psychology degree course included data analysis and interpretation of data. My final year project required me to solve logistical, ethical and risk based problems and extensive analysis in order to make decisive conclusions.
Teamwork
• Teaching has allowed me to work on my team working skills in through working with other teachers by comparing notes and teaching techniques to provide the best and most effective lessons for the students.
• Rowing, teaching and my academic career have also given me the skills to work and motivate myself to complete a task, race or maintain a workspace in an individual capacity.

• Completed “Survival of the Fittest” 10k run in under an hour
