Self-introduction:

INTRODUCTION
I am an Australian Master student at Renmin University, currently living in Beijing, looking for part-time work as an English teacher. I would like to have an interesting and unusual experience in China whilst contributing my skills to assist in the education of youth. I understand the importance of English language learning and difficulties with accessibility to native speakers, therefore I have a great interest in teaching. I have extensive experience with teaching non- English speakers of all ages from 5- 80, including one year teaching at a primary school in South Korea and six weeks teaching teenagers and adults in Wenshan, Yunnan. I enjoy teaching English and I believe further teaching experience in China is a good opportunity to contribute to the community and can complement my current studies. I am looking forward to working in a comfortable, friendly and interesting environment.

I have known Chelsea for 1.5 years as a friend and fellow teacher in a teaching program in South Korea. Chelsea is a very passionate and reliable individual who has an enthusiasm for whatever sparks her interest. Her kind and welcoming nature makes those around her comfortable and a pleasure to be around. She has an adventurous character that has allowed her to journey into an array of cultural challenges that she has taken head on and has overcome. For the past few years, Chelsea and I have been acquainted through an English club that she helped develop in Sokcho, South Korea. Chelsea was one of the most active and encouraging club members who was committed to the improvement of members’ English conversation skills- an attitude that I have no doubt she would bring to any group who has the pleasure to work with her.
As an elementary English teacher in South Korea, Chelsea demonstrated enthusiasm and creativity in her classroom. She established a warm and caring environment free of tension which allowed the students to be comfortable to ask questions and take risks as they learned. On numerous occasions I have seen Chelsea conduct a group with confidence and grace. In one instance, as a guest lecturer for the TaLK and EPIK workshop in South Korea. Chelsea displayed her ability to delegate, communicate and motivate a room of English teachers. Chelsea has a loving and compassionate heart when it comes to those she knows is in need. I have seen her energy, creativity and determination in action through her volunteer tutoring sessions with some of the Korean children in Korea, and it was evident that they enjoyed their time with her.
Based on the previous information, I enthusiastically recommend Chelsea for this summer teaching position. I have a strong personal respect for Chelsea and truly believe that she will bring her passion, enthusiasm, creativity and unique energy to this program.
