Self-introduction:
After I finished working as an english teacher in Taiwan, I needed to go back to Canada to be with my family and learn new skills that I could use in Canada. I did some videography and film editing for weddings, then ended up becoming a roofer in the trade industry for 3.5 years. Even though I've earned many certificates and usable skills, I found the injuries and hard labour associated with the line of work to be troubling. I have always been able to do well at any task presented to me and I am proud of my achievements, but the time came that I needed a change of direction.
Throughout my years of teaching, I learned a lot about discipline, lesson planning and engaging children with enthusiasm and positivity. I felt that with my experiences in the classroom and living abroad for many years among chinese people, that I could come to Shanghai and offer my skills to create a better life and career for myself. I can speak some mandarin and I continue to learn more everyday. I hope to keep advancing my skills as a teacher, adapt to life in Shanghai and show my family and friends back home that I can make a better career for myself and once again prosper abroad.
