Self-introduction:

I have been a committed volunteer with the special Olympics, teaching and coaching swimming, a sun safety representative for YMCA camps where I spread awareness of the benefits of practicing sun safety to children. I also volunteered with a local high school, where I instructed physical education classes, and endorsed health promotion. From these experiences, I have developed a passion for teaching and truly enjoy seeing the individuals benefit and succeed as a result of my instruction and assistance. The variety of lifeguarding, retail and teaching jobs I’ve had, has allowed me to learn a lot about different settings and from the teaching aspect- a lot about working with children and adults. I have a strong athletic background and have gained the skills of being hard working and committed. I have lived in various provinces across Canada, and coming from a mixed ethnic background, I am able to relate to a wide range of people and understand how their specific needs may need to be met.
