My name is Ait Hajji Kamal from Morocco, currently I am living in South Korea. I recently graduated with a Doctor’s degree in Education. I am an English teacher and specialize in teaching English as a foreign language during my academic years in Morocco and Korea, I have been teaching English to different kinds of learners belonging to different age categories, ranging from beginning to advanced levels. That, has made me aware of the needs and interests of diverse learners. Subsequently, whenever, I prepare lesson plans, I always consider the interconnection between the learner’s own knowledge, culture and learning abilities, the subject matter discussed in class, and current debates on social issues. I choose content and activities that are both significant and challenging for the learners so that they are stimulated to think “beyond” their comfort zone and feel involved in their own learning process. Also, collaborative learning is central to my teaching philosophy in order to promote reflective thinking and improve the learners’ communicative and cultural skills. Additionally, I believe that using computer-based material and educational software in my classroom are helpful tools in the promotion of meaningful learning.
