Teaching is a multi-faceted job. You are a teacher/mentor, adviser, coach, parent/brother, and friend. Being in the teaching profession for more than 11 years now, I would say that teaching is indeed very rewarding and at the same time a very challenging job. Most of the time, teaching is not only confined in the four walls of the classroom. One thing that makes students' lives very fun and interesting is that they are also provided with extra-curricular and co-curricular activities that will develop them holistically. And as teacher, it is also our job to participate/ engage ourselves in these activities. So aside from my teaching job, I was also a Quiz Bee coach to different national and international competitions. The preparation for these contests require a lot of training and preparation. Being a Science teacher, I was also engaged in a lot research activities with my students. I was a Research adviser for two years in the premier Science High School in the Philippines.
