Self-introduction:
I am currently reaching the end of 18 months teaching English in Cangnan Middle School, a high school near Wenzhou and am looking for a new school in another Chinese city for a teaching position next term.
I am a graduate with a first class UK degree and 18 months experience teaching English in China.
This time spent teaching has given me first hand teaching experience and an invaluable chance to put the theory of teaching into practise whilst immersing myself into Chinese culture and language.
I really enjoyed my time in Wenzhou and would like to continue teaching in China, whilst also improving my Chinese.
Before coming to China I also spent an invaluable year in industry working both individually and as part of a loosely coupled team to achieve personal and organisational goals. During this time I also educated users about a variety of topics and had direct exposure to some of the difficulties of teaching people new skills. A project was understaffed during my time in the company and I was asked to travel to Copenhagen and Stockholm to spent three weeks assisting local users with any problems they had during a difficult transitional time. The project was executed flawlessly and for this I received personal thanks from the project director.
Whilst living and working abroad, and to a lesser extent while attending university sponsored language courses, I encountered many people for whom English was not their first language. Through our friendship I have given informal English language instruction and gained a taster of the problems faced teaching and learning a language.
