Self-introduction:
During my university studies, I was given the opportunity to study abroad in Chengdu, Sichuan province. This experience changed my life and opened my eyes to Chinese culture and the profound difficulties of learning two very different, albeit increasingly important languages. I believe it is important to understand the struggles all English learners face and at the same time to keep their interest in learning the language by focusing on real world examples instead of constantly drilling them with grammar. Having learned the importance of utilizing a wide variety of teaching methods to engage the class and accommodate all students learning needs, I have discovered the progress that can be made when students are interested and comfortable in learning English.
For years I have worked with children and young adults in a variety of different roles, leading and teaching them in non-formal learning environments. Adapting these experiences to the classroom has proved particularly helpful, yet I am constantly aware of the need for even the most experienced teachers to continually modify and improve their teaching methods. It is the primary responsibility of the teacher to enable the students to learn, that is something I have not taken lightly. I am driven to make sure everything is done to the best of my ability; I take my work responsibilities seriously and am constantly seeking feedback. While I may not have as much experience as other applicants, I can guarantee that my effort, professionalism and flexibility will more than make up for it.
Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
