In the classroom, I like to use a variety of new media, including Prezi presentations, apps and short videos to help engage the students and allow them to experience knowledge first-hand. I also employ open discussions and debate during lessons, encouraging students to voice their opinion and learn through self-discovery. Presentations, group activities and question-answer sessions are also tools I find valuable to get students to participate in the topics we are covering. In addition, my fluency in Mandarin Chinese helps me to interact with the students on a more personal level as well as being a useful tool for solving problems in the classroom when communication in English is difficult.
