Self-introduction:

Founder and CEO at Fluence, an award-winning marketing agency with a sharp digital edge.
I am a brand evangelist and creative director at FLUENCE, an integrated marketing agency that started out as a 100% digital agency.

After studying toward a BCom degree at the University of the Western Cape, I won a contract with the provincial government in the Western Cape in 1997 to sell computers and teach people how to use them.

I joined Ticketweb SA in 1998 as their Head of Creative Solutions and was part of the team that pioneered contact centre assistance via Instant Messaging. That same year I launched URBANTAINMENT - the first entertainment social network in South African cyberspace, which went on to become the first online marketing platform for major events in South Africa, especially the Peter Stuyvesant Music Spectaculars.

In 2001 I joined MTN and conceptualised YELLOWORLD, the globally deployed in-house communications platform of MTN.

In 2007 I launched a design and branding agency named KOOLOOMA and folded it after 14 months. I then joined Sytech Supplies as the company's Head of Marketing in 2008. After selling R1 million worth of modular signage equipment and not getting a dime extra for it - my season there ended.

On 5 February 2011, minutes after sending my resignation email, I launched a digital marketing agency named FLUENCE from my lounge. As the CEO of FLUENCE I was invited to speak at the Social Media World Forum in 2011 and The Digital Edge Live in 2012. In January 2013 Fluence New Marketing won an award for job creation from Shanduka Black Umbrellas.

As of 1 January 2014 FLUENCE no longer functions as purely a digital agency. It is a full service marketing agency.
