Please consider my application for the advertised position. Beneath I will outline why I am suitable for the position.

Firstly, I have experience teaching the iGCSE curriculum, preparing students for IELTS and general English language study. Furthermore, other competences include teaching skills for life, similar to PHSCE in the British curriculum but this needed to be adapted to suit the ESL environment. I have experience as a tutor, responsibilities included monitoring students’ progress and checking their health and wellbeing. I have also had the opportunity to run the Model United Nations extra-curricular activity club. I designed a syllabus, taught students about their roles and responsibilities as global citizens as well as organise regional debates for the students to compete against other schools in the region.

Secondly, I am suited to this role due to my academic background in TESOL. During my three years of extensive training I have covered a variety of topics critical for being a successful English language teacher. After finishing my CELTA course with a pass B and my TESOL degree with a first class qualification I feel that both of these facts display a great ability in English language teaching which displays more than the post-certificate experience that I currently obtain. Moreover, I received a certificate of excellence from the TESOL department, which further demonstrates my ability and enthusiasm for teaching.

I have lived and taught in Thailand and China, this gives me a huge advantage when teaching international learners as I have had a lot of experience with learners of all ages and abilities.

Furthermore, I am suited to this role as I am a great communicator, I have studied intercultural communications intensively and have had many opportunities to put into practice all that I have learnt. I have a huge respect for other’s cultures and ensure that all my lessons and students respect the views of all. During the years of my personal training I have gained the valuable skill of being able to build rapport with learners and clients, this ensures a brilliant working relationship as well as the time being spent together being constructive.
